MAN 101 – Fundamentals of Management           

Deals with the basic functions of management, such as planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling which are tasks performed by managers in all types and sizes of business and other forms of organizations. It also includes the basic concepts and theories of organizations and management practices.

MAN 102 – Basic Statistical Methods

The modern statistical concepts applied to research, survey, business, and industry. Topics range from descriptive statistical tools to selected inferential statistical methods.

MAN 103 – Methods of Research

A survey of the different methods of research: historical, descriptive, experimental, systematic, scientific techniques of investigation, including practical problems in selecting a topic, gathering data, analyzing and reporting of findings, and other methods appropriate for the preparation of case studies and thesis.

MAN 104 – Ethical and Moral Issues in Business & Management

Deals with the problems and practices affecting moral and ethical standards of business, corporate, and government. It also includes the basic ethical and moral principles / practices applied to business and industry such as Good Business Ethics, Social Responsibilities of Business, Questionable Practices, among others.

MARMA 201 – Marketing Management

An integration of the spectrum of marketing activities for the planning, organizing, directing, and controlling functions of management, and a discussion on the variable factors of marketing concepts. Emphasis is placed on modern marketing policies and strategies as they relate to corporate goals and objectives.

PROMA 202 – Production / Operations Management

It deals with the production and operation functions of the business. Includes mathematical as well as statistical techniques used in achieving efficient operation and manufacturing of goods, design of products, routine scheduling, quality and cost control, and also some methods in operations research for the purpose of avoiding, if not, eliminating waste.

FINMA 203 – Financial Management

The role of finance in business organizations, techniques and problems of financial management, sources and uses of funds, planning cash requirements, and organizing finance functions are discussed. It also covers financial packaging, liquidity positions, profit planning, and budgetary systems.

MANAC 204 – Managerial Accounting and Controllership              

The principles and procedures of accounting, and the art of controllership used in the administration of business and enterprise, are discussed. This includes capital budgeting, accounting principles and methodologies, some principle on auditing, and how to effectively utilize scarce resources.

MANEC 205 – Managerial Economics

Deals with economic analysis as applied to executive decisions, economic aspects of corporation policies on production, competition, profit costs, demand price determination, advertising and capital formation, with emphasis on measurement and forecasting.

ORBEP 206 – Organizational Behavior and Processes

Deals with the problems and techniques of adjustment of individuals and groups within the organization; techniques of motivating and developing cooperation among executives and other socio-economic groups; and development of public community relations.

BUSPO 207 – Business Policy / Strategic Management

Deals with the science of increasing profit while minimizing cost as applied to business and industry. It includes the application of mathematical tools such as Linear Programming, Integer Programming, and Dynamic Programming, among others.

ORMS 208 – Introduction to Operations Research / Management Science

This is a subject which deals with the science on how to increase profit and at the same time minimize cost if applied to business and industry. It includes applied mathematical tools such as Linear Programming, Integer Programming and Dynamic Programming among others.

ENTRE 209 – Entrepreneurship

Shows how to open and manage one’s own business or enterprise. Also, it discusses as to when to engage in this type of venture under different kinds of economic and business climate.

This course is designed to develop skills in top management in terms of policy formulation and its implementation in order to strategically position the enterprise favorably as it faces competition, economic problems, and other external as well as internal factors affecting the enterprise.

FMPA 301 – Public Finance and Corporate Management

This subject deals on how government financial institutions and its management are governed and work. It also includes, among others, some principles on financial management and other practices in management applicable to government funded or government owned / controlled corporations.

FMPA 302 – Legal Environment in Public Administration

This subject deals on legal aspects affecting the existence of government organizations and controlled corporations. It includes contemporary problems and issues in the area of public administration.

FMPA 303 – Local Government Administration

This subject deals on how local government units are managed, run, as well as organized. It also includes a study on the type of management practices, its governance / administration.

FMPA 304 – Current Issues and Problems in Public Administration

This subject deals on contemporary issues, problems affecting government agencies as well as government controlled corporations. Also, the subject includes solutions to problems in government agencies and procedures which will help government avoid problems and public criticisms.

PQM 301 – Process & Risk Management

This subject deals with the processes involved in risk management for the purpose of minimizing, or removing risk.

PQM 302 –Reliability Theory & Practices

This subject deals with statistically-oriented topics which have something to do with quality control in the area of manufacturing and other related industry activity and processes.

PQM 303 – Quality-Improvement Techniques, Strategy & Management

This subject includes mathematically-based quality assessment theories and practices for the purpose of improving quality of products, goods or services. It also includes topics, among others, as management commitment, education and training, Project Team, and Deming’s Fourteen Points.

PQM 304 – Productivity Measurement & Quality Management Assessment

This subject deals with the concepts and procedures on how productivity is measured to maintain efficiency and assessment of quality management which includes awareness on the part of the implementers, training of people, and technically the use of tools such as Time Series Analysis, and Graphs and Charts.

CF 301 – Investment Management

This subject teaches the student on how to use resources for investments wisely or how to wisely invest them given the ups and downs in the economic.

CF 302 – International Finance

This subject deals with the financial atmosphere as well as the financial problems, solutions and conditions of multi-national corporations operating in many different parts of the world.

CF 303 – Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting

This subject deals with how finances are supposed to be put in place so that they can, as valuable resources, be used to the fullest to achieve profitability and positive financial condition of the enterprise.

CF 304 – Management of Financial Institutions & Commercial Banks

This subject deals with the study of financial institutions and commercial banks how they are supposed to be managed, to be more profitable and less risky. The study includes concepts on how to avoid or minimize unfavorable financial experiences.

HRDLR 301 –Executive Training & Development

This subject deals with the training of personnel and executives and their development as human resources so that their skills and knowledge may be utilized by the company to the fullest. It includes discussions / concepts on how to become good and effective leaders of the organizations.

HRDLR 302 –Personnel and Industrial Relations

This study deals with the relationship between labor and management in the industry. It includes how to manage critical situations / conditions when conflict arises between the two forces, government intervention, and options.

HRDLR 303 –Introduction to Labor Law and Standards

This subject deals with labor laws and applicable to the workplace, more particularly the manager-employee rights and obligations.

HRDLR 304 –Fundamentals on Organizational Development

This subject deals with concepts & procedures involved in the development of organizational structures, behavior of the organization, and how they all affect the life and prosperity of the business/institution. It attempts to resolve some problems and issues confronting the organization in this aspect.

THM 301        Tour Operations and Travel Industry Management

This subject deals with the roles of tour operation and travel agency in the tourism industry and the rules governing the setting up of a travel agency. It offers knowledge and skills development in the management and operation of tour and travel agencies, which include itinerary planning tour packaging, tour costing, reservation methods, travel documentation and airline ticketing procedures.

THM 302        Current Issues & Trends in Tourism & Hospitality Industry

This subject deals with current issues/problems & events in the tourism and hospitality industry. It highlights the roles of government and private agencies in resolving and implementing policies relevant to tourism establishments. It also reviews the standard requirements imposed by the Department of Tourism on all types of tourism business establishments.

THM 303        Hospitality Management and Operations

This subject deals with the role of hospitality as part of the service industry. It identifies several types of hospitality operations which will be the main focus of the study. This includes hotel operations, food & beverage operations, resort operations, gaming, recreation & leisure management and operations, and theme park operations & management.

THM 304     Tourism & Planning Development

This subject deals with planning and development concepts that would help improve the tourism industry. A feasibility study or development plan is a terminal requirement to justify proposals and recommendations resulting from actual visits to undeveloped tourist destinations to develop the student’s ability to conceptualize innovative strategies for development.

THM 305        Consumer Behavior in Tourism and Hospitality Industry

This subject deals with current and applicable consumer behavior concepts for the tourism and hospitality industry. It also deals with behaviors affecting the said industry and how these would influence future developments and decisions.

MKTG 301 – Integrated Marketing Communication

This subject deals with the significant role that advertising and other promotional mix within a firm’s overall marketing and brand promotion programs. The discussion will dwell on how a firm communicates to consumers using a broad range of communication tools.

MKTG 302 – Essentials of Strategic Marketing

This subject deals with the application of concepts and processes in the design and implementation of market-driven strategies.  It requires the analysis and integration of markets, buyers, competitors, and the match between the organization’s distinctive capabilities and industry opportunities, to gain competitive advantage.

MKTG 303 – Global Marketing

This subject deals with the principles and practices of global marketing. The topics include the scope and challenges of international marketing, the cultural environment of global marketing management, and the corporate context of international marketing.

MKTG 304 – Special Topics in Marketing

This subject deals with the latest trends in marketing. Topics will revolve around current issues in the marketing-mix: product, pricing, distribution, promotion, and consumer behavior as well.

MKTG 305 – Product Planning & Development

This subject deals with the principles and methods of product planning and development.  Discussion includes elements of product and package design; product branding; packaging and labeling; product features; performance, salability. Discussions dwell on decisions concerning elimination of obsolete products and product development process.

Thesis Writing:

 THESIS I

This course prepares the student for thesis proposal writing in business. Emphasis is given on key research concepts, such as the Historical and Theoretical Perspectives of the Study, Statement of the Problem, Significance of the Study, Scope and Delimitations of the Study, Research Paradigm, Definition of Terms, Review of Related Literature, Review of Related Studies, Research Design, Research Locale, Participants/Respondents of the Study, Research Procedure, Research Instrument, and Statistical Treatment/s, Bibliography, Appendices, and Timetable of Research.

THESIS II

This course is a sequel to THESIS I, which shall guide the student to accomplish the following: Presentation of data in tables, figures, graphs, and results of statistical analysis; Discussion, analysis, and interpretation of tables and graphs; Comparison of the study’s findings with other related studies  with proper citations; Summary of key findings which are presented following the order of the Statement-of-the-Problem’s specific questions; Conclusion/s coming from the results of the statistical analysis of data and the  interpretation of said results; Recommendation/s based on the Conclusion/s .
